Triumph celebrates the birth of its 500,000th bike!

To celebrate this historic occasion, British funny man and motorcycle fanatic, Ross Noble, is touring the country on a Triumph Speed Triple to find the best biking routes in Britain. Called the ‘Sit Down Tour’, the seven-day trip will see Noble riding through England, Scotland and Wales, ending on 30th May 2011 in Newcastle, Ross’s hometown.

The comedian will be asking motorcycle fans and Twitter followers to tell him where to go via ‘Tweets’ and help him find Britain’s best biking routes.  As well as marking the momentous milestone of Triumph’s half-millionth bike, the tour also celebrates Ross Noble’s 20 years as a stand-up comedian.

The Speed Triple features a red, white and blue paint scheme as specified by Noble. The new burnished-metal-style paint finish is expected to appear on Triumph's new 2012 range when it is launched later this year.

After the tour, Ross will take the Speed Triple to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on 1st July. The bike will be auctioned off and all proceeds will be donated to the charity ‘Riders for Health’. The charity provides vital motorbike transport for emergency medical help to reach otherwise unreachable parts of rural Africa.

Triumph fans can follow the tour through Twitter @therealrossnoble and @officialtriumph. See what other fantastic new Triumph motorcycles other than the Speed Triple in Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex have rolled off the production line during Triumph’s history.
